Sustainability is a key part of life and learning at Walpole Primary School.

Our students are encouraged to understand their impact on the environment and to take positive action at both a local and global level.

Through classroom learning, outdoor experiences, UR Walpole, waste reduction initiatives and community partnerships, students build knowledge about conservation, responsibility and sustainable living. Our work includes practical actions such as reducing waste, promoting rubbish-free lunches, supporting recycling initiatives and strengthening student voice around environmental action.

In 2025, Walpole Primary School was recognised as the State Winner of the Tidy Towns Sustainability Award for Environmental Education, reflecting our school’s strong and ongoing commitment to environmental learning.
